My college roommate and friend, Kim, came to visit us.  Her daughter, Maija, and Daphne are only a few months apart in age.  But as you can see, you can't make two girls be friends just because their moms are.  Maiji looked a little put off by Daphne's embrace.
You can see how fun it is to try to get two 2 1/2 year olds to both pose for a picture.
After repeatedly trying to get Beck to go up stairs (so he'd stop whining at the bottom) with no success, one day I walked past the stairs and saw this...
Daphne has never really gone out of her way to be naughty.  But occasionally she gets creative, like here where she was trying to get into the snack cupboard.
I got Daphne some sunglasses for Christmas.  One day she decided to put them on and wouldn't take them off for days.
My little starlet!
And pretty soon he was an expert.  Nothing could keep him from the stairs, not even partial nudity.
January 2008
We had the hugest snow in
years.  Daphne and I got all bundled up and she climbed, ate, and smelled the snow.  We both had an absolute blast.
Daphne got invited to her first kid birthday party, her friend Josh's 3rd birthday.  She had a fantastic time.   They got to decorate their own party favor bag, then they sang happy birthday and ate cupcakes.  They watched Josh open presents, and then all the kids got to bang, toot, and blow on various kid-sized instruments.    And ever since, every time we sing happy birthday, it's to Josh.  And Josh is the first person Daphne thanks God for in her prayers.  Evidently, Josh's party made a big impression on her!
