September
One of the kids' favorite activities during the summer was going for walks.  They both loved it.  Particularly the "chicken tree" where a neighbor's chickens roosted and the dips in the canal.
You can't even believe how much Beck still likes his Jumparoo.  With his legs getting longer, he can get serious air!
We took the kids to the State Fair.  I think Daphne was in ecstacy at all the animals there were to see.  She loved the pigs and sheep, but she was a little scared of the giant cows.  Her toy versions are much safer.  She also loved riding on the carousel and didn't want to get off.
Definitely the highlight of the State Fair, though, was Jennie winning the Champion Cookie Baker Award.  It is given to the person who wins the most blue ribbons for cookies.  Out of 8 categories, Jennie won 4 blue ribbons, 2 second-place ribbons, a fourth place ribbon, and only one cookie didn't place at all.  Way to go, Jennie!
This summer my square foot garden really flourished.  I planted corn, carrots, 3 varieties of lettuce, peas, green beans, broccoli, watermelon, cucumbers, green peppers, cilantro, basil and green onions all in 16 feet of space.  And NO weeding!
Beck and Daphne's first trip to the  zoo went pretty well.  She liked seeing the animals, and Beck was, as always, a good sport even though he wasn't too interested in animals yet.  Mommy and Daddy were hot and tired by the end.  I think we'll go in the winter next time.
I have a feeling Daphne and Beck will be best friends some day...if he makes it that long!
I have been working with Daphne on smiling lately.  When I put my fingers to my face to show her where the smile goes, she copied me with this!
Awwww, what cute cousins!  Ridge is only a month younger than Beck.  They're destined to be best friends (and double trouble) some day.
Daphne goes native!  (Notice how long her hair is getting.  She is starting to look like a real KID now, not a baby!)

In September, Daddy went on a trip without Mommy.  Next time Daddy might find that Beck has come on the trip with him!
